Alliance Air announced that it took its first delivery of its Dornier 228 aircraft to facilitate connectivity between northeastern states on April 7. Centre-run Alliance Air had signed an agreement in February with the government-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the lease of two 17-228-seat Dornier aircraft.

On April 7, the airline said on Twitter: “Alliance Air takes delivery of its first Indian-made Dornier 228. The unpressurized 17-seat Dornier 228 with an air-conditioned cabin capable of day and night operation.”

The light transport aircraft will facilitate regional connectivity in the northeastern states, he added. Until now, Dornier aircraft were used only by the armed forces.
