If this caught your eye, then you should definitely check out the Abbotsford International Air Show, which will take place August 9-11 at Abbotsford International Airport.
Started as a community fundraiser, the Abbotsford Airshow has grown to become Canada’s national airshow and one of the world’s premier aviation events. In fact, it was named one of USA Today’s “Top Ten Airshows in the World”, and for good reason …

The Abbotsford Airshow hosts dozens of flight shows, airplane tours, family performers, and educational workshops during the three-day event. The top performers include the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the US Air Force Thunderbirds, each of which will participate in a dazzling display of synchronized flight. Expect high speeds, huge jets, and thunderous engines. There are 25 aviation-related performances scheduled for the weekend, which will include military jets, vintage planes, and epic stunts. Although it hosts some amazing attractions for local aviation enthusiasts, the Abbotsford Air Show is also a great event for the whole family. Other highlights of the event include acrobatic performances, parachute and pyrotechnics demonstrations and the possibility of get up close and personal with some of the most iconic planes on the planet.

In fact, the aircraft‘s static display, which features 34,000 square feet of aircraft on the ground, is the Abbotsford Air Show’s most popular event. There will be 29 aircraft on display, including modern military planes, historic warbirds, commercial planes, helicopters and hot air balloons. This is your chance to step inside the cockpit and bring those pilot dreams to life! From the ground, of course.
There will also be a kids’ zone, an autograph booth, and exhibits from local bands like the Vancouver Whitecaps, BC Lions, Vancouver Aquarium and more. Food trucks will be on site all weekend.
