Taliban Acting Defense Minister urges Uzbekistan, Tajikistan to return military planes

AKIPRESS.COM – Taliban Acting Defense Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, at a ceremony in Kabul where the air force held an exercise, said military planes taken to the foreigner should be returned, TOLOnews reported.

He warned that if the countries where the military planes were taken do not return them, they will suffer the consequences. “Our planes which are in Tajikistan or Uzbekistan should be returned. We will not allow these planes to stay abroad or for use by these countries, ”he said.

The Defense Ministry said that after the fall of the former government, more than 40 helicopters were transported to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

A number of Russian-made helicopters that were inactive due to technical issues were repaired by the Islamic Emirate and were presented on Tuesday. “Our future air force will not depend on any country,” said the acting defense minister.

The acting defense minister also called on opponents of the Islamic Emirate to join the new government and put their differences aside. “Come support this government and stop opposing it,” he said.

There are reports that before the fall of the former government, Afghanistan had more than 164 active military planes and there are now only 81 in the country. The rest were taken out of Afghanistan and taken to different countries.
